What is spinal decompression?
Spinal decompression surgery is a surgerydone to relieve symptoms which are caused by pressure,compression on the spinal cord.

What are the common techniques for decompression?
Disectomy
This involves removing a portion of a disk to relieve pressure on the nearby nerve roots.

Spinal Fusion Surgery

A spinal fusion surgery is planned to stop the motion at a tender vertebral segment, which in turn should decrease pain generated from the joint. Lumbar spinal fusion is surgery to join, or fuse, two or more vertebrae in the low back. Spinal fusion is main surgery, usually durable for several hours.

Artificial Disc Replacement

What is artificial disc?
An artificial disc is a device that is implanted into the spine to imitate the functions of a normal disc.

What is artificial disc replacement?
Artificial disc replacement surgery involves replacing a painful disc with an artificial disc. Artificial disc surgery may be performed on the lower back (lumbar spine) or the neck (cervical spine). Artificial disc replacement surgery is indicated for patients with severe degenerative disc disease (DDD).
