What is esophagectomy?
Esophagectomy is the surgical procedure to remove a part or the entire esophagus, the tube that carries your food. If, the whole esophagus is removed then it is rebuilt by a part of your stomach or small intestine.
What are the tests required?
The tests required before the procedure are:
- Chest x-ray,
- CT Scan,
- MRI
How much time is required?
The patient needs to stay in the hospital for a week or two during the whole surgery takes place and the procedure will take about 6 hours to happen.
