Dr. Balamurugan, has subspecialized in Pediatric Orthopedic surgery and one among the few in India who has subspecialized in this field. After completing his formal orthopedic training in Sri Ramachandra Medical college and Dr. Rangarajan Memorial Hospital, Chennai, he pursued further training in the United Kingdom.
He has completed a dedicated Pediatric Orthopedic training and has been awarded Fellowship by The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR university.
With a vast experience and expertise in dealing in pediatric trauma and pediatric hip disorders, his special interest includes CTEV and limb deformity corrections. He has strong academic and research interest in various aspects of children orthopedics. He has expertise in the management of a wide range of pediatric problems including developmental hip dislocation, Perthes disease as well as limb deformities involving rotational, angular and length abnormalities. Additionally, he deals with orthopedic problems related to neuromuscular disease and skeletal dysplasia. He has pioneered minimally invasive techniques for dealing with these complex problems.
